Where the sand meets the ocean
And creates the beach,
Where my heart meets my blood
And pumps it through my veins,
Where blind eyes are made to see
And faith awakens something so deep
That we didn’t know the soul could bear something so unique
Where heaven meets earth.
Here.
This poem was written in my favorite place, a quiet corner in coastal North Carolina that has witnessed both my becoming and my unraveling. It’s a reflection on how one space can hold joy and grief, peace and transformation, all at once. The words came slowly, like the way healing happens when you’re not looking. This place has shaped me in ways I never expected - softening me, challenging me, holding me through it all. In its stillness, I found pieces of myself I didn’t know were missing.
This poem is my way of saying thank you and letting go, all in the same breath.
As you read this poem, I hope you think of your place, your “Here”, and pause in celebratory reflection on how far you've come.
