the little things.

I’d forgotten how to enjoy the little things.

And when you forget the little things, they start to feel like big things-

until everything feels like too much,

and you begin to crumble beneath the weight of the world.

So I took a break - intentionally.

I sat by the river and watched the sun melt slowly into the horizon.

In the soft oranges and pinks, my body began to loosen.

In the deepening purples, I remembered:

Life is good. God is great.

As the sun disappeared and darkness wrapped itself around the world,

a quiet flame returned inside me- one I hadn’t felt in a while.

So when life feels too heavy,

when the small things feel too big,

sit still. Watch the sky.

In the colors of a sunset and the calm of nature,

you’ll rediscover peace,

gratitude,

and the gentle beauty of the little things.

This poem is for anyone struggling with the weight of the everyday - for those who are usually the light in the room but can’t seem to shake the heaviness lately. For the ones who are burned out, quietly craving change, unsure of what’s missing but feeling the ache of it all the same.

I hope this poem reaches you like a deep breath - a gentle reminder to slow down, to pause. To let yourself feel. To find comfort in life’s quiet offerings: the way the sunlight filters through the trees, the hush of evening settling in, the simple peace of being still.

Sometimes, we all need to stop and smell the roses, watch the sky change color, and remember that even the smallest moments can carry us through.
